My Smith connection

I suppose most people have a Smith or two somewhere in their tree. Findmypast tells me that over 1.8 million of them have been born since 1837. As of March 2012 I can claim one of those 1.8 million. My 3x great grandmother Rachael Smith was born in 1785 in Northumberland. I have not tracked a birth record for her yet, but will start looking somewhere around the Newcastle or North Tyneside area as she married Caleb Carr in Longbenton in 1808.
