As of March 2012 I have identified two Thompsons in my pedigree. The first is my 4x great grandmother Eleanor Thompson born in 1769 in Elsdon in Northumberland. Eleanor married Joseph Hall. Eleanor’s father was 5x great grandfather William Thompson born about 1740 in Northumberland. I have not yet established whether William was born in Elsdon or elsewhere.
