My 3x great grandmother, Margery Hall, was born 3 July 1803 at Elsdon in Northumberland.
Margery is the 3rd daughter and 7th of the 10 children of Joseph Hall of Elsdon and Eleanor Thompson of Rothbury Parish. You can read more about her siblings on my Hall page. On 17 May I posted about Margery’s marriage to John Thornton.

Status on plans from March 20
In planning my Easter holiday I listed up 8 items to follow up at the Northumberland Archives or NDFHS. After three trips to Woodhorn I can now report that I have worked on 5 of the listed items, but only one of them can now be crossed off as complete. On the plus side I have eliminated some options from my other enquiries and I discovered that some of the records I was reviewing to answer the questions had additional information that was useful, so I spent more time on those records rather than hopping over to the next question.
The one item I have successfully cleared from the list is checking that I had documented the correct father for 3x great grandmother Margery Hall born 1803 in Elsdon, Northumberland. I had conflicting information from two different transcription sources giving her father as Joseph and John. I have now reviewed the microfilm of the church records and confirmed that her parents were Joseph Hall of Elsdon and Eleanor Thompson of Rothbury parish.
Hall of Elsdon
Tonight I have established a page under My family for my Hall ancestors. 3x great grandmother Margery Hall and her father Joseph Hall grew up in the remote village of Elsdon in Northumberland. Joseph takes me back to 1767. I need to take a closer look to see if I can find his parents and to see if Margery was an only child or had siblings.
