Stavers

My Stavers connection

The first Stavers in my pedigree is 2x great grandmother Margaret Stavers born in 1839 in Seghill in Northumberland. Her father is my 3x great grandfather Peter Stavers born about 1810 or 1811  in North Seaton or Woodhorn in Northumberland. Peter seems to have been a bit of a “bad lad” as I have found two criminal convictions, but I will tell you more about that in another post later. I have a theory that Peter’s father may have been another Peter Stavers born about 1874 in Woodhorn, but if this is the case then 3xg granda Peter would appear to be the illegitimate child of a liaison prior to 4xg granda Peter’s marriage. If this theory can be proved then my 5xg grandfather would be John Stavers. Further research needed to confirm or disprove these theories.
